For EU customs we also need the purchase invoice and, for companies, an EORI number. We send you an exact checklist when you book.
Import duty and VAT in the EU

Duty and VAT are charged on the customs value: the purchase price plus shipping and insurance to the EU. VAT depends on the country where the vehicle is cleared, from 17% to 27%. We confirm the exact figures in writing before the vehicle ships.

Sohar or Salalah?
Sohar is closest to Muscat and the north. Salalah suits Dhofar and is a major transhipment hub. We choose based on your collection point and the next good sailing.
Will I pay import duty in Europe?
Normally 10% duty on a passenger car plus the VAT of the country where it is cleared. Transfer of residence relief can remove both if you are moving to the EU and meet the conditions.
Can you ship equipment and machinery?
Yes, in standard, flat rack or open-top containers, with delivery in Europe on our own trucks or with specialist partners.
Can an Omani car be registered in Europe?
Usually yes, often with an individual approval in the destination country. Tell us the car and the country and we will tell you what usually applies.
